DALLAS OFFERS ITSELF UP AS A PUNCH LINE (ONCE AGAIN)

Clergy for Recall, the South Dallas group that wants to boot Mayor Miller from office, says that it has enough signatures to force a recall election. Of course, now the City Secretary’s office has to validate the petition before it becomes official.

A few weeks ago I spoke to a number of top-level folks in Dallas politics who thought this effort would collect enough valid signatures. Some were considering a run for mayor in 2007 and most were supporting someone other than Miller. But they all agreed on one thing: If a recall happened in November, they would be ready to make a race at that time.
