CHANNEL 8 TO DO “SAVE CHANNEL 8 WEEK”?

I’m hearing that Channel 8 is paying the price for its recent investigative piece that wasn’t kind to Ford (local dealers pull ads, content of the report). The newsroom budget is so tight that Hansen was told he won’t have money to send reporters and photographers to out-of-town Cowboys games. Nor will there be discretionary travel for news stories. No bonuses for 2004. And, of course, they’ve instituted a hiring freeze.

Goodness. I put a call into Hansen to confirm this. If it checks out, I promise to print every swear word he utters.
