Helen Bryant Anders writes for the Austin American-Statesman now, but she revisited her old stomping grounds for a travel story yesterday, “Dallas: Bright lights, big cities.” Registration is required and BugMeNot doesn’t help so I’ll give you the pertinent part. Helen wonders aloud about the geographical limits of Uptown:
Later I would e-mail the question to Adam McGill, a senior editor at D magazine, arbiter of all things cool in Dallas. His best guess: “The way I see it, McKinney Avenue is the main artery of Uptown. It stretches from the Crescent (hotel) up to Lemmon Avenue. . . . I guess, technically, West Village is an island within Uptown.”
You can expect updates on Things That Are Cool to follow as needed.
