ASLEEP AT THE NEWS

|

A Dallas Newsie sent me this story and this story to show that Austin bureau chief Christy Hoppe is on top of the game. Sorry, guys, I read those stores before I posted. They make Schutze’s scoop even more embarrassing to the News. They mean the News actually knew about the hearings and maybe even attended a couple–and missed the story entirely. Christy Hoppe reported some little spat over a nuisance law and mentioned “bad police work.” What the testimony shows is a nuisance law being used as a weapon by corrupt cops and a City Council member. Corrupt cops. Got that? Perhaps even a criminal conspiracy. Got that?

And all this was being revealed in Austin right just weeks before a city election! Imagine what more could have been revealed by a little–just a little–reporting.
