La Duni Latin Cafe Closes Last Location

Beloved cafe La Duni closed its original and last-standing location after 22 years on McKinney Avenue, according to the Dallas Morning News. The other four locations closed at the beginning of the pandemic. Co-owner Taco Borga told the paper that the future of the bakery will live through “vendunis,” or La Duni dessert vending machines run entirely by bots. One “venduni” can be found at AT&T’s Discovery District.

A Third Location of Leela’s Pizza & Wine Opens in Uptown

Leela’s Pizza & Wine is bopping to Uptown to serve its Roman-style pizzas and wine on tap. It’ll be the third Leela’s location for UNCO Management. There will be rosés, whites, and reds on tap, along with champagne and signature cocktails. The food menu includes items like the mushroom pizza, a thin crust pie topped with béchamel sauce, a house cheese blend, a medley of mushrooms, and white truffle oil. There’s also the kale and manchego salad, made with kale, manchego, almonds, currants, and apple cider vinaigrette. 2355 Olive St., Ste. 145.

An Italian Ice Chain is Now Open in Addison

Italian ice and gelato shop Jeremiah’s Italian Ice is celebrating its grand opening this weekend at its new Addison location on Marsh Lane. The franchise serves gelato, Italian ice, ice cream, and more frozen treats. At its grand opening on April 15 and 16, customers can stop by for free samples and half-priced items. 14380 Marsh Ln., Building B, Addison.

Dallas’ Harwood District Will Have a New Patio Restaurant

Tequila Social, a restaurant inspired by West Texas, will open later this spring with a Tex-Mex menu of fajitas, fish tacos, and queso. The drink menu will feature margaritas, frozen cocktails, and a selection of beers, according to a press release. The new concept from Harwood Hospitality Group will open in the Harwood District near the Katy Trail. It’ll span 10,000 square feet on the ground floor of the 3100 McKinnon building and includes a dog-friendly patio, fire pits, and live entertainment on some nights. 3100 McKinnon St., Ste. G100.

New Food Market Fig & Favor Is Now Open

Fig & Favor is now selling gelato, wine, and to-go meals out of its Harwood District storefront. The concept was introduced by Harwood Hospitality in February and will include meals inspired by other Harwood Hospitality concepts, like Dolce Riviera, Magnolia: Sous Le Pont, and Mercat Bistro. 2850 N.
