Where to Prost and Celebrate Oktoberfest in North Texas

If you couldn’t make it to Munich this summer, don’t fret. You won’t have to go far to get a taste of Oktoberfest. Weekend events kick off this weekend at cities all over North Texas.

Trucktoberfest

Truck Yard’s party is an ode to Oktoberfest where beer lovers can prost and fill up their steins with plenty of beers on tap, including one brewedwith Munich malt and German hops by Nuernberg brewmaster—and Franconia Brewery founder—Dennis Wehrmann. The two-day fest will feature a pretzel eating contest, wiener dog racing, and a plethora of German food. Admission is free.

Sept. 10–11 | Truck Yard Dallas and The Colony

Addison Oktoberfest

Addison has one of the region’s most lauded celebrations for the German festival, packed with four days of food, music, and games. A bounty of German beer will be available alongside brats, skillet potatoes, and schnitzel sandwiches. Little ones can enjoy games and other arts and crafts. Admission details can be found on the Addison Oktoberfest website.

Sept. 15–18 | Addison Circle Park, 4970 Addison Cir., Addison

Celestial Beerworks

The out-of-this-world brewery is hosting its first “Spocktoberfest” in honor of the German celebration, with a little Star Trek mixed in. The space-themed taproom will be open from noon to 5 p.m. for folks inlederhosen to drink lagers and other beers ($30 per ticket). German-inspired food will be offered via Haleigh’s Eats. Order tickets here. Buy a 20-ounce stein and get three free lager pours, as well as any other beer that has less than 7 percent alcohol by volume.

Sept. 17 | 2530 Butler St., Dallas

McKinney Oktoberfest

The three-day festival is in its 15th year and will feature domestic and imported beer, live music, and games for the entire family. Expect Bavarian eats like pretzels and bratwurst. A happy hour is planned for Friday from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. for those wanting to get the party started early. This year’s festival is ticketless, so be sure to bring a credit card or be prepared to pay digitally.

Sept. 23–25 | Historic Downtown McKinney, 111 N. Tennessee St. McKinney

Vector Brewing

Back for its third Oktoberfest celebration, Vector Brewing will host a day-long party with loads of German beer and an artisanal market with more than two dozen local shops. Pizza and bratwurst will be on sale in addition to a “stein hoisting” contest for the strongest beer drinker of them all. Also, a weenie dog parade. No ticket required.

Sept. 24 | 9850 Walnut Hill Lane Ste. 405, Dallas

Frisco Oktoberfest

After the ceremonial keg tapping to serve the first beers of the day, Frisco’s third Oktoberfest will feature keg rolling races and competitions for both brat eating and the best Oktoberfest attire. Strap on your lederhosen and dirndls and head north! Ticket sheets are $20 for 20 tickets. For details, check out the Frisco Oktoberfest website.
