Michelin Will Host a Dinner at Bullion, the First Time Ever in Texas

They're gracing us with their presence.

And so it begins. Last month, Dallas was named Restaurant City of the Year by Bon Appetit. Close on the heels followed the announcement that Khao Noodle was second-best in the country in that national magazine’s list of top 10 newcomers. Folks in the industry then started to mumble things: when would the Michelin crew start paying attention? And wouldn’t it be nice if a Dallas restaurant could finally snag a James Beard win? (Side note: the categories were redrawn last month, and Texas is now its own geographical region, meaning our chances as a city up against Houston and Austin, are higher.). Now comes news that the Michelin crew, is in fact, descending.

They’re coming to Bullion for their first Michelin on the Road dinner event to be held in Texas. It’s no surprise: Bruno Davaillon is our only Michelin-starred chef, a fact we’re reiterated many times. Davaillon and Michael Cimarusti, the James Beard award-winning and much-acclaimed chef from two-Michelin-starred restaurant Providence in Los Angeles, will forge a partnership for the evening. Desserts will be the work of Bullion’s Ricardo Sanchez, who has his own high-end pedigree.

I’m not saying you should drop everything and attend the dinner—though you can, and it would not be a bad idea in the least. But I am saying it’s worth noting that the searchlights are turning their beams in our direction. On the high-end and the casual end. And hopefully everything in between.

Details about the dinner: six-courses on November 10. Start time is 6:30pm. Tickets are $195. More information here.
