Te Deseo opens tonight. This is the eighth restaurant from Harwood Hospitality Group. I’m going to keep this simple and to the point. Some facts that you might like to know:

  • Executive Chef Ty Thaxton is preparing Latin American-inspired cuisine and cocktails
  • There are wood-fired meat skewers, enchiladas, and tacos
  • The restaurant is 14,000 square feet
  • There are more than 100 tequilas and mezcals to choose from
  • There’s a rooftop bar and a courtyard
  • There are cigars
  • Te Deseo is located at 2700 Olive St.

“We ultimately combined several different recipes and techniques of Central America,” says Thaxton. “Most items are made in house, from the dough, chorizo, sauces, to our tortilla chips and more. Although, if a local tortilleria is making better tortillas than us, we will buy from them. For instance, we went out of our way to find a source for real blue corn tortillas. We finally chose to work with one in the Southwest using real blue corn—not dying it.”

I’m looking forward to checking this place out. Dining critic Eve Hill-Agnus is “tentatively excited.” We’ll share our thoughts with you once we’ve dined, drank, and smoked cigars at Te Deseo. In the meantime, here’s the menu:
