Meet Taylor Adams.

As my colleague Catherine Downes made perfectly clear in a post last month, which involved a victory-lap exit interview (over Tex-Mex, naturally) with Beth Rankin about her upcoming departure for The Denver Post, the Dallas Observer has been on the hunt for a food editor.

Yesterday, I ran into the new food editor at the Asian Night Market at the Bomb Factory. As was fitting of the event, we had a very brief conversation in which I learned that she has lived in the Philippines. We touched on the dearth of Indonesian food in Dallas, and I surreptitiously popped fried shallot morsels into my mouth, making, I am sure, an excellent impression. This article from CultureMap will tell you more, including the fact that she has been freelancing for the publication for three years.

This is my introduction to Taylor Adams, who will be at the helm of all things food-related at the Observer.
