Stephan Pyles Has Some Senior-Related News

This is not what we expected.

I’ve stopped trying to figure out what is going on with the Stephan Pyles brand. In the midst of the massive changes at Flora Street Cafe, which is transitioning from the haute dining destination it has been to a dual restaurant model (a casual experience side-by-side with Fauna, a tasting-menu-only restaurant/room with a newly-hired chef), we receive news that Pyles has more big news.

Stop the presses. Pyles is holding a news conference. Actually, a joint news conference. Pyles will join Rick Pruett, the executive director for Ventana by Buckner, to announce something of a partnership at 10 a.m. next Wednesday at Flora Street Cafe. With promises that those who attend will “be among the first to hear how Chef Pyles will once again revolutionize the Texas dining experience.”

A media alert states:

Celebrated restaurateur Stephan Pyles will hold a joint news conference with Buckner Senior Living about its upcoming senior living community, Ventana by Buckner. The conference will reveal details around a major announcement and industry first.

The release goes on to explain that Ventana is a $140 million luxury high-rise retirement complex, set to open later this year in North Dallas, with 12-story towers. I can only imagine that’s quite a bit of catering. Ventana is under the aegis of the faith-based nonprofit Buckner International.

The full alert is below.
