Eco-Friendly Bellagreen Opens First Dallas Location

Calling the Paleo and gluten-free.

Houston-based Bellagreen will open its first Dallas location at The Hill shopping center today. The company, which has seven restaurants in Houston, promises “flavorful, chef-inspired options for everyone.” And the menu looks to embrace the pan-dining approach that will be familiar to those who haunt Company Cafe or Paleo-friendly spots like HG Sply Co.

In the shadow of Presbyterian hospital, off Central Expressway, where the closest eateries might be Dave & Buster’s and Blatt Beer & Table, the Latin-American Nazca Kitchen, Hat Creek burgers and Red Hot & Blue barbecue, Bellagreen offers healthy, flavor-forward entrees like Paleo-friendly za’atar-seasoned salmon tacos cradled in almond tortillas and topped with sweet potatoes and kale. Or “hempenadas” made with wheat-and-hemp flour and filled with cheesiness and a ground-beef picadillo-like situation and a peach chipotle sauce. Kale massaged in an avocado-lemon dressing is part of an eco-friendly, veggie-friendly mission, touting the motto “eat well and tread lightly,” and basing their design on alternative power sources and water-saving devices, recycling and shunning polystyrene foam.

They’ve got fish tacos and wood-fired pizzas, paninis and burgers (all-natural beef, turkey, or buffalo, and veggie-nut, naturally). Crème brulee and tres leches cake, but also a high-protein hemp brownie. And a seasonal Paleo spaghetti squash Bolognese for fall.

Future openings include two locations in Plano at The Shops at Legacy and Preston & Park in 2019, according to a press release.

Call it a small green wave.
