If you get the chance to go to Italy, by all means, go to Italy. It’s great. But if you’d like to experience the next best thing, complete with great food, gorgeous views and a fun-loving ambiance, then head directly to MidiCi.

That’s because the soon to be open MidiCi in Preston Hollow Village channels Italy, from its food—think wood-fired Neapolitan pizzas and fresh —to its functional art and welcoming environment.

Now, let’s take a look at how those three components combine to make MidiCi your new lunch and dinner go-to.

The Food

It all starts with the pizza. The signature Neapolitan dough is made fresh from just four ingredients—non-GMO double zero flour, water, sea salt and yeast. Together, they create the light, thin, soft and chewy crust that is the hallmark of true Neapolitan pizza. Options range from classic Margherita to creatively-topped pies like the Egg N’ Bacon, with fresh mozzarella, applewood-smoked bacon, spicy sausage, garlic, oregano and a cracked egg.

MidiCi also serves an array of non-pizza dishes like calzones and house-made meatballs, plus fresh salads and decadent desserts. And the drinks include everything from wood-fire roasted coffee and gourmet teas to craft beers and unique wines. The point is: you won’t go hungry or thirsty here, and with the variety of options, you’ll never get bored.

The Art

The heart of the restaurant is… literally called “the heart.” That’s the visible central stage where you’ll find the ovens, kitchen and bar. Those attractive ovens are functional masterpieces that came straight from Naples, where they were built by hand. But they’re more than just eye candy—they can reach 1000 degrees Fahrenheit and bake your pizza to perfection in just 90 seconds.

Next up, you’ll notice the real Black Olive tree anchoring the dining room. Its canopy stretches up toward the high ceiling, and the living, breathing tree fills the space with a sense of peace and serenity.

The Environment

At MidiCi, the food and drinks deserve plenty of credit, but the restaurant was designed as a place for people to congregate and enjoy each other’s company. Diners are encouraged to put their phones away, sit back, relax and engage in conversations with old and new friends alike. Because the memories you can create over a shared meal will last longer than any social media post. Of course, if diners do want to capture a moment on film, the restaurant is happy to lend you a Polaroid camera. Take a photo, and add it to the growing Polaroid display. Think of it like having a photo on your mom’s wall, if your mom was a benevolent Italian with a knack for making wood-fired pizzas.

Look out for the MidiCi in Preston Hollow Village opening this October.
