Pizza day 😋. It’s been a while since we’ve made pizza, but today was a game day: soccer, US open final, American football, so it felt like a pizza kind of day. I use @simplemills pizza dough, roll it in two separate round pizzas, bake it for about 8-10 minutes before adding the toppings. 👩🏻‍🍳 Toppings are basil pesto with walnuts (and without Parmesan, since there was already cheese on pizza), Buffalo Mozzarella, Prosciutto di Parma, mushrooms, red onions, green olives, fresh figs, fresh oregano and fresh basil. I already have 3 pizza recipes on the website in case you haven’t seen them already, but this one is the most common and the basic one I make. Week #35: Ochazuke . This week’s Shokugeki dish is based on Isshiki Satoshi and when he made Ochazuke! If you want to eat something very comforting with light flavors playing off of each other, I think this is the perfect dish! Furthermore, I was inspired by one of my favorite orders from ANY sushi restaurant… the seared salmon nigiri😋 The marinade, sear, and kewpie combination definitely balanced the mellowness of this dish soooooooo yeah… I think I would’ve been satisfied no matter how I did this fish😊 ANYWAY! Time to think about which dish from Shokugeki to the play off of next week!!! .

Not too shabby for hand-laminated croissants🤷‍♀️ These croissants are leavened with mostly sourdough starter and a bit of instant yeast. I def need a bit more practice with hand-lamination and maybe some weight training for all that rolling💪, but for now these flaky beauties are hitting the spot!

Lemon chicken with olives & capers for my one pan Sunday dinner. This gluten-free meal has become a staple in our house and makes me so happy because it’s ready in under 30 minutes and while it cooks you make a crisp salad and you are set! You pan roast the chicken in an oven safe skillet to start and then transfer to finish in the oven. All one pan and done! A great meal for weeknights, but also for entertaining, they will think you spent way longer on this dish than you did. WIN! The salty olives and capers pair perfectly with the lemon juice.
