Even More Fried Foods Added to the State Fair of Texas Lineup

Today in mega-important State Fair of Texas food news: more items have been added to the cheesy, fried, and sugar-coated lineup.

*sound of Fletcher’s Corny Dogs beating against a snare drum*

Corn Dog Ale: amber ale served with yellow mustard.

Orange Julia’s Beermosa:  sparkling wine, orange Pixy Stix, Blue Moon beer, and vanilla ice cream.

Fried Cup of Corn “Elotes:” elotes spooned into a flaky pastry and fried. Topped with cheese and served with a side of corn dip.

Supra Stuffed Mini Sopapillas: three mini sopapillas loaded with strawberry cream cheese, dusted with cinnamon and sugar, and drizzled with honey.

Kool-Aid Pickle-Dilly Sangria: pickle juice is mixed with fruit punch-flavored Kool-Aid, pineapple, cherries, and blueberries. It’s topped with white wine and lemon-lime soda.

Southern Fried Chicken Nachos: tortilla chips topped with cheese, Rotel, pico de gallo, fried chicken tenders, and fresh cilantro.

King Crispy Coconut Crab Sliders: whole soft-shell crabs are dipped in coconut batter and fried until golden. The crab is served on a King’s Hawaiian bun with creamy Asian slaw and a side of fried plantains, spicy mustard, and sweet and sour sauce for dipping.

Texas Thai Delight: sticky rice mixed with coconut milk and mangos is rolled in batter and deep fried. It’s served on a stick with a side of house-made “sweet sauce.”

Pico Frito (Deep Fried Pico de Gallo): tomatoes, cilantro, onions, and jalapeños are folded into an egg wrap paper and deep fried until crispy. The dish is served with a side of savory cilantro sauce.

Fruity Dessert Nachos: crispy butter cookies topped with fresh strawberries, blueberries, and bananas. It’s drizzled with crème anglaise and Ghirardelli chocolate sauce and then finished with whipped cream.

Bacon Brittle: applewood smoked bacon brittle that’s glazed with bourbon.

Frosty’s Frozen Hot Chocolate: Ghirardelli cocoa blended with milk, water, and ice. It’s topped with whipped cream, chocolate sprinkles, and a marshmallow and cherry garnish.

Cherish Erbert Champagne: cherry Pixy Stix, sparkling wine, and vanilla ice cream.

Fletcher’s Cheezy Pup: American cheese on a stick, dipped in Fletcher’s batter and deep fried to a golden brown.
