College football is back, and you’re excited to watch your team play. We know this. You can’t wait to see your team win. That, or you’re dreading another season of disappointment. Either way, watching the game at a bustling bar with likeminded fans, while you sip a cold beer, and munch on some wings, beats sitting at home alone.

These local bars, which are partial to different university teams, just might become your new favorite cheering spot.

Tacos and Tequila

Team: The University of Texas Longhorns
Next Game: Saturday, Sept. 15 at 7 p.m. vs. The University of Southern California
The Dallas Texas Exes Chapter meets at Tacos and Tequila every game day, so if you’re a ‘horns fan, stop by and enjoy a “Big Boy Pitcher” of margaritas or a flight of tequila and watch the game. Enjoy some tacos on the rooftop deck during halftime.

Henderson Tap House

Team: The University of Oklahoma Sooners
Next Game: Saturday, Sept. 15 at 11 a.m. vs. Iowa State University Cyclones
Henderson Tap House is home of the OU club of Dallas, so go watch the next game with your fellow Sooners and order a pizza and a beer and watch the game on one of the numerous flat screen TVs around the establishment.

Malarkey’s Tavern

Team: Penn State University Lions
Next Game: Saturday, Sept. 15 at 11 a.m. vs. Kent State University Eagles
This traditional Irish pub identifies itself as a Penn State-friendly bar, so though Pennsylvania may be roughly 1,200 miles away, Nittany Lions fans can meet together for a pint of beer and an Irish taco, whatever that may be.

High Fives

Team: Texas Tech University Red Raiders
Next Game: Saturday, Sept. 15 at 3:15 p.m. vs. The University of Houston Cougars High Fives is a particularly Texas Tech-friendly bar as anyone who drives by this Henderson bar will notice from the large black and red flags hanging in the front. With a fun atmosphere and cold drinks, High Fives will not fail to disappoint.

The Nodding Donkey

Team: The University of Kansas Jayhawks
Next Game: Saturday, Sept. 15 at 11 a.m. vs. Rutgers University Scarlet Knights
Jayhawks, you’re in luck! Nodding Donkey is not only a favorite of Kansas fans, but also has great deals on Saturday, like $4 Bloody Marys until 1 p.m. and $20 Miller Lite buckets.

British Beverage Co.

Team: Texas Christian University Horned Frogs
Next Game: Saturday, Sept. 15 at 7 p.m. vs. The Ohio State University Buckeyes
British Beverage Co., or BBC, is a great bar to frequent if you are a TCU fan. Their happy hour runs from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. and boasts $1 off drafts and $2.50 wells. Oh, and 99-cent mimosas from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Milo Butterfingers

Team: Southern Methodist University Mustangs
Next Game: Saturday, Sept. 15 at 2:30 p.m. vs. The University of Michigan Wolverines
While it may seem that every bar in Dallas has the potential to be a SMU bar, Milo Butterfingers is a classic go-to spot for SMU fans. Because the bar is near the SMU campus, plenty of students will be around and it’s a great spot for after tailgating, with pool, darts and other dive bar activities.
