Last August, Nancy mentioned that California mini-chain restaurant Laurel Tavern was opening in the former Clark Food & Wine space. Remember that? No? That’s okay. You can refresh your memory here.
Word comes today, via press release, that modern American restaurant and bar opens on Wednesday, May 23:
From Pork Belly skewers with maple glaze to the Duck Club with duck confit, smoked bacon, pickled green tomato and cherry mustard made in-house, Laurel Tavern provides an elevated casual dining experience that is accessible to everyone. The cocktail program is solid, using fresh ingredients.
With tin walls, low ceilings, an L- shaped bar made of black walnut and banquettes with diamond-tufted leather, the space has a sense of intimacy and feels like an extension of someone’s home.
Lauren Tavern is located at 1920 Greenville Ave. and will be open Monday through Thursday from 5 p.m. until midnight and Friday through Saturday from noon until midnight. Check out the menu below.
