The Best Happy Hours in Dallas

Where to find the city's finest after-work deals.

It’s been a long day. You’re parched and craving something to take the edge off from that awkward conversation you had with Susan in the elevator. Fear not! Dallas is brimming with drink specials. (So is Plano. And McKinney.) We spent weeks exploring restaurants, dive bars, brewpubs, and cocktail lounges from Oak Cliff to Lower Greenville and well beyond. Here are the best happy hour menus you’ll find in North Texas. 

Downtown 

City Tavern 

When: Monday through Friday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

What: discounted snacks, $2 off all Texas spirits, $2 off Texas beer, $5 house wine 

Tip: Come here to hang with locals and gorge on loaded cheese fries.  

Dakota’s 

When: Monday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. 

What: $6 wells and draft beers, $7 house wine, $12 classic cocktails. 

Tip: This place is cool, dark, and literally underground; a good place to hide from the outside world. 

Frankie’s Downtown 

When: Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. (all day Tuesday) 

What: $4 domestic bottles, $5 house spirits and wine, $7 margaritas. Food specials include $7 chicken quesadillas, $7 stuffed jalapeños, $8 Hoodoo fries.  

Tip: One of the best places in Dallas to watch sports. 

The French Room Bar 

When: Monday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. 

What: $9 martinis, $8 wines, $7 beers. Appetizers start at $6.  

Tip: If you want to splurge, try their $75 tableside martini, which comes with caviar, sea beans, and lemon juice.  

Happiest Hour 

When: Monday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. (Not available on Dallas Stars and Dallas Mavericks game days) 

What: $5 pints, $6 wells, $7 wines, $7 bites.  

Tip: This is a terrific patio, and the closest large bar to the American Airlines Center. 

Lee Harvey’s 

When: Monday through Thursday from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. 

What: $4 domestic beer and wells. 

Tip: Bring your dog, they’ll love the patio here, too. 

Rodeo Bar 

When: Monday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. 

What: $6 house wine, beer, select cocktails, and food such as the Rodeo Burger, queso, chili cheese fries, and chili. 

Tip: Their Rodeo Burger is one of our favorites.  

Design District 

Double D’s 

When: Wednesday through Friday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. 

What: $7 select cocktails 

Tip: Stick around for the music—our fave DJs are here.  

Ferris Wheelers 

When: Monday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. 

What: $3 domestics, $4 wells, $5 house cocktails 

Tip: Catch live music any night of the week and bask under the glow of the Ferris wheel.  

East Dallas

Apothecary 

When: Tuesday through Friday from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. 

What: $10 select cocktails 

Tip: The drink menu can get experimental. Try one of their “illicit” cocktails for some funky flavors.    

Desert Racer 

When: Wednesday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. 

What: $5 select drinks and bites 

Tip: Highballs and margaritas are supreme, but so are the smoked chicken flautas.  

Dubliner 

When: All day Monday; Tuesday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. 

What: $1 off drafts, $3.50 domestics, $5 wells, $8 Jameson  

Tip: The folks here watch football, not soccer.  

The Goat 

When: Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Sundays noon to 7 p.m. 

What: Discounts on (already cheap) domestics and wells 

Tip: Happy hour starting at 7 a.m. says it all.  

Goodfriend Beer Garden & Burger House 

When: Wednesday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. 

What: $2 off wine and cocktails, $4 drafts, $4 wells 

Tip: This is one of the best beer selections in town. 

The Libertine Bar 

When: Tuesday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. 

What: $6 cocktails, half-off bottles of wine, $1 bottled beer, $3 to $7 bites 

Tip: There’s a menu of shots if you want to stir up trouble.  

Single Wide 

When: 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. Monday through Friday 

What: $3 wells and domestics, $5 Yoo-Hoos 

Tip: Stick around for Bingo, DJs, and karaoke afterward (depending on the night). 

Uptown 

Bowen House 

When: Every day from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. 

What: $9 cocktails, $10 wines by the glass, $4 bottled and canned drinks, discounts on snacks ($3 tuna taco, $10 burger, fried olives, Spanish croquettes, and chicken salad.) 

Tip: Booths are cozy and cocktails are delicious. Spend the rest of your night here to get a break from the Uptown buzz.  

Katy Trail Ice House 

When: Monday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. 

What: discounts on cocktails and beers 

Tip: there’s an outpost in Plano, plus another heading up to Allen in 2025.  

Parliament 

When: All day Monday, Tuesday through Saturday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. 

What: Specialty cocktails for $6 to $7, $5 beer, $6 to $15 glasses of wine and champagne. 

Tip: They run happy hour specials anytime it’s raining. 

Saint Ann 

When: Wednesday through Saturday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. 

What: $7 specialty cocktails, $5 domestic beers, $5 house wine, $7 small bites.  

Tip: This patio is relaxing, shaded, and ideal for large groups. 

Si Tapas 

When: Monday through Thursday from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. 

What: $3 tapas and drink specials.  

Tip: Sit on the patio, it’s one of the coziest in Dallas. 

Standard Pour 

When: All day Monday, Tuesday through Sunday from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. 

What: $6 to $7 cocktails, $4 to $6 beers, $7 wine, and food specials 

Tip: Stick around for live music and a three-course meal. 

Stoneleigh P 

When: Monday through Friday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. 

What: $2.50 Lone Stars, $4.50 wells, $5 Absolut vodka, $6 quesadillas, wings, cheese fries, and queso. 

Tip: They’re moving to Lemmon Avenue in Oak Lawn this April, so keep an eye on their specials.  

Truluck’s 

When: Monday through Friday from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday 

What: Half-off on liquor, beer, and wine at the bar.  

Tip: Live music in the bar. 

Uchi 

When: 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. every day 

What: Discounted bites, $6 sake, $5.50 Japanese lager, $7.50 wines by the glass. 

Tip: This happy hour in itself seems like a bonus with some of the most delicious sushi. 

Oak Lawn/Park Cities 

Campuzano Mexican Food 

When: Sunday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. 

What: $4.99 house margaritas 

Tip: They give you not one, not two, but three complimentary salsas with your chips. 

Jalisco Norte 

When: Tuesday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. 

What: $6 margaritas, $4 beer, discounted wine and bites (dips, tacos, and tamales). 

Tip: Free chips and salsa here, too! 

Inwood Lounge 

When: Every day from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m., with daily specials.  

What: $3 domestics, $5 wells, $1 off liquor and beer. 

Tip: Catch a movie afterward; you can take your drink into the theater. 

Henry’s Majestic 

When: Wednesday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. 

Specials: $5 house wine, draft beer, and craft cocktails, $2 off shared plates 

Tip: The new location has an impressive patio, which includes fire pits for when it’s cold.  

The Old Monk 

When: Monday through Friday from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. 

What: $7 house cocktails, $1 off hot drinks, specials on food 

Tip: Cheese fries! 

Deep Ellum/Fair Park 

Adair’s 

When: Sunday through Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m.; Thursday through Saturday until 8 p.m.  

What: $4.50 Miller pints, $5.50 Shiner, $3.50 wells, $5 shots of Weller, Tito’s, and Hornito’s.

Tip: On Tuesdays there are half-pound burgers and fries for $8.50. 

Double Wide 

When: Tuesday through Friday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. 

What: $3 wells and domestics, $5 Yoo-Hoo Yeehaws 

Tip: Catch live music here on your Deep Ellum crawl. 

HIDE 

When: Monday through Friday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. 

What: $7 to $8 cocktails, $6 to $8 select wines and all draft beers. Discounted bites such as $7 double cheeseburger, $5 rosemary popcorn, and $7 crispy pimento cheese.  

Tip: The staff here knows their stuff. Ask about a cocktail and be prepared for a lengthy and technical explanation—hey, life is learning. 

Las Almas Rotas 

When: Tuesday to Thursday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. to 11:45 p.m.; Friday and Saturday from 11:30 p.m. to 12:45 a.m.; Sunday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. to 11:45 p.m. 

What: $5 off all margaritas, $3 off all classic cocktails, $8 bebecitos, $5 drafts, and food specials including $8 guac, two tacos for $6, and $7 churros.   

Tip: These are some of the best quesadillas in town. 

Medical District 

The Grapevine Bar 

When: All day Monday and Tuesday, Wednesday through Friday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. 

What: $5 wells, $7 premium liquors, $6.50 frozen drinks, $4 bottle beer, $5 craft cans, $4 house wines 

Tip: The new location has a lot more room for activities (not including the basketball court). Pop in for weekly trivia and live music.  

Oak Cliff 

Ayahuasca Cantina 

When: Tuesday through Friday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. 

What: $10 cocktails such as margaritas, palomas, and ranch waters.

Tip: Food here is tapas-style. Indulge a little.  

LadyLove Lounge 

When: Monday through Thursday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. 

What: $8 select cocktails 

Tip: Their popcorn of the day changes daily! 

Tiny Victories 

When: Tuesday through Saturday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. 

What: Half-priced cocktails and domestic beer, and wine specials. 

Tip: They execute classic cocktails very well here, and their happy hour is a steal.

North Dallas/Collin County 

Al Biernat’s 

When: Monday through Friday from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. 

What: $2 off cocktails and wines by the glass, $1 off beers, specials on all bar food (including mango ceviche, Texas Wagyu-Angus sliders, mini beef Wellingtons). 

Tip: This happy hour is fancy enough to impress a date. 

Bavette Grill 

When: Daily from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. 

What: $7 house wines and select cocktails 

Tip: The patio is an oasis: the chef’s garden has herbs and veggies grown in hydroponic towers.  

Pinstack 

When: Monday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. 

What: $3 domestic beers, $5 craft beer, $5 house wine, $5 margaritas. 

Tip: bowling, laser tag, rock-climbing, bumper cars, Mario Kart—need we say more? 

TJ’s Seafood Market 

When: Monday through Friday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.  

What: Special prices on food and drinks 

Tip: Pick up some fresh seafood to cook at home, or just have dinner in the store. 

Union Bear 

When: Monday through Friday from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m.; 9 p.m. to close every day. 

What: $2 off specialty cocktails, $7 house wines, $7 wells, $4 brews, $6 to $12 snacks (chips and queso, pretzel bites, flatbreads) 

Tip: Their massive dining room and covered patio make for an ideal happy hour spot for Plano and Frisco corporate headquarters .

Whiskey Cake 

When: Monday through Friday from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m.  

What: $7 cocktails and wines, $5 draft beers, $7 bites 

Tip: A $21 bone marrow luge is on the happy hour menu! It includes roasted bone marrow, smoked date syrup, gremolata, and a shot of Bulleit Rye.
