Want to enjoy the best that Dallas restaurants have to offer without ever leaving your home? Our new recurring feature, Dish Pirate, will help you bring the city’s robust dining scene to your kitchen.

I’ve been craving sandwiches. So, I did a little research on the best sandwich in Dallas and time after time, pictures of Jonathon’s Club Sandwich popped up. Jonathon’s has been a staple in Oak Cliff for years. Their menu boasts exceptional brunch food and their patio is perfect for the upcoming spring weather.

In the event that it starts to rain agin, and it most likely will, and you want to stay inside your home, we are giving you all the info you need to make this sandwich in your own kitchen. All ingredients can be found at your local grocer, maybe even your local convenience store.

Jonathon’s Oak Cliff Club Sandwich

Ingredients
3 slices of sourdough bread
3 slices turkey deli meat
3 slices ham deli meat
2 slices american cheese
2 slices swiss cheese
2 slices thick cut bacon
1 egg
tomato
lettuce
purple onion
avocado
mayo
salt & pepper

Directions:
1. Toast your bread and immediately slather with mayo. Mayo is like butter so you want to get it on when the bread is warm and it will soften it a bit.
2. Fry bacon to your liking and set aside.
3.Fry egg leaving the yolk runny… if you want to be cool like that.
4. Prepare all vegetables by slicing tomato, onion, lettuce and avocado.
5. Now, build the sandwich… from bottom up; bread, onion, avocado, turkey, ham, alternate cheese slices, bread, lettuce, tomato, egg, bacon and end with bread.

You could definitely try to conquer this thing in its whole form but slicing into fourths is probably more manageable. Secure each corner with a skewer of some sort and cut into small triangles. Enjoy.
