According to Plano Magazine, downtown Plano is getting a seafood restaurant with some serious street cred. Chef/partner Salvatore Gisellu and partners Nathan and Bonnie Shea are adding another concept to the historical district. The trio currently operated Urban Crust and Urban Rio. This is great news to the citizens of Plano.
Gisellu is a widely respected chef in these parts. Before he moved to Plano to helm Urban Crust in 2009, he cheffed at Arcodoro/Pomodoro and Daddy Jack’s Grill in Deep Ellum. He partnered with Bonnie and Nathan Shea and the threesome opened Urban Rio in 2012 in the former Plano Ice House. The patio of bar upstairs, On the Rocks, has a gorgeous western view of the sunset and, on a clear night, the Dallas Skyline.
In early 2018, the group plans to begin work on Urban Seafood Company. The magazine reports the new restaurant will be located in the “on the site of the former Rodenbaugh’s Appliances Outlet.” The four-story building will also house a pilates studio on the second floor, and office spaces on the top two floors. The restaurant will also house a fresh fish market.
