Commissary Is Giving Away Free Bagels on Friday

All you have to do is show the downtown grab-and-go spot some love on social media.

Last week I told you that if you live or work anywhere near downtown—and even if you don’t—you should head to Headington Companies’ new Commissary for a glance at the brave new world of gourmet grab-and-go. This week I’m telling you that if you go on Friday, you may score a free bagel. If you show them your love on Instagram, they promise boiled, baked, poppy-seed-blitzed love while supplies last.

Bagel flavors are plain, poppy seed, everything, and sesame. Shmears come in plain, lemon-blueberry, fresno-pepper jelly, veggie, and everything. If that’s not your jam, you’re forewarned. I’m also not placing bets on best times of day. Lines are de rigueur at the new place, the pace not yet abating.

And don’t blame me if you upgrade on the spot to the smoked salmon bagel with tomato, arugula, and dill-caper cream cheese. (That’ll be on your own dime, baby.) Or if you leave with far more than you came in for.

As you may recall, I’d be in serious danger of having another passionate tryst with the French dip.
