The Scoop: Soft Serve at Weekend Coffee, Hog Roast at Mudhen Meat and Greens, and More

Weekend Coffee now serving soft-serve ice cream: The creamy dessert is available every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Weekly rotating flavors include horchata, strawberry-yuzu, peach-almond, Mexican chocolate, piña colada, and cookies and cream. Toppings include sprinkles, sugared hazelnuts, brownie bites, cinnamon, and buñuelos.

Norma’s Café turns 61, offers $1.79 meals: All five locations of the popular café are offering meatloaf and chicken and dumplings for $1.79. The special runs today only and while supplies lasts.

Mudhen Meat and Greens to host second-annual hog roast on June 29: Chef Suki Otsuki is preparing a whole hog from Falster Farms in Winnsboro, Texas for a 4-course meal. The menu:
