Chefs Tre Wilcox and Jermaine Brown Leave Julia Pearl Southern Cuisine

Trouble in Plano's restaurant paradise.

Nobody is saying why, but there has been a significant exodus from the kitchen at Julia Pearl Southern Cuisine. Tre Wilcox, the culinary director since the restaurant opened in late 2015, has left the building. Apparently so has Executive Chef Jermaine Brown. Wilcox is headed back to beef up his Tre Wilcox Cooking Concepts, a Plano venue where he hosts cooking classes and corporate team-building events along with his full-service catering operation. Brown has moved to Great Scott in Grapevine owned by Matthew Scott. (All are Abacus veterans.)

Too many Southern restaurants? Not enough customers? Word on the street is the restaurant owes people some back pay. We’ll probably never know. We’re too busy getting to the new restaurants opening every day.
