Nikkei, the most recent bar from Milkshake Concepts, is tentatively scheduled to open next Monday in Uptown. (It could, however, be later in the week.) Nikkei offers a variety of specialty cocktails, wine, beer, and sake. They’re also serving food. Chefs Nick Harrison and Ross Demers are behind the Japanese and Peruvian-influenced menu. Staples include koji-fried chicken with aji panca, miso, and salsa; chilled somen with uni, garlic chips, sesame, and tofu; and crispy pork belly. The space is adorned in dark woods and vivid accents. There’s also an AstroTurf-covered rooftop patio. Nikkei is located at 2404 Cedar Springs Rd., Ste. 400 and will be open for dinner Sunday through Wednesday from 6 p.m. to midnight, and Thursday through Saturday from 6 p.m. until “late.”
