Since they opened their first food truck in December 2011, Caroline Perini and Miley Holmes have been busy ladies. Easy Slider, known for their quality sliders made with home-made bread and truck-made sauces, now roams the streets in three trucks. Perini and Holmes are also about to open a brick-and-mortar restaurant in Deep Ellum. In their spare time, they are expanding their mobile catering business by adding Open Road Shave Ice and Bar Cart Texas.

Monday, Easy Slider became one of 50 food trucks across the nation competing in Thomas’ Breakfast Battle. You know Thomas’. The company that makes English muffins and bagels. They are conducting a five-week contest. Each of the 50 trucks has constructed a breakfast sandwich and you get to be the judge. You can vote once a day until October 16. Hurry up and cast your vote for our hometown favorite: Angus ground beef with pimento cheese,  jalapeño jelly, and smoked ham on English muffins. Each week the field will narrow. You can win money along the way, but the winning truck takes home $25,000. That’s a lot of easy sliders.
