Celebrate National Cheese Pizza Day With These Dallas Pies

Get cheesy.

For all you cheese pizza lovers out there, we have an announcement you may want to sit down for. Ready? On September 5 it’s—drum roll please—National Cheese Pizza day. Texas may not be known for this cheesy goodness like New York or Chicago, but that does not mean that we don’t know how to create pies that are so worth the carbs.

If your guilty pleasure is cheese pizza and you are ready to celebrate a holiday that involves eating, you will want to continue reading.

Cane Rosso

With its wood-fired Neapolitan pizza, Cane Rosso is the place to go for that true Italian pizza flavor. The restaurant uses house-made and imported mozzarella on their pies. Underneath the heap of cheesy goodness you’ll find their sea salted thin crust, it’s perfectly chewy in the center. Tip: if you are a true southerner and put more ranch on your pizza than cheese and sauce combined, you may want to keep scrolling down, you won’t find ranch here.

Fireside Pies

This restaurant offers delicious toppings on their pies that will make your taste buds tingle. Fireside Pies has a pesto and burrata pizza along with a meatball option. Although the restaurant definitely offers intricate toppings, you can never go wrong with their in-house, hand stretched pizza crust that comes drenched in melted fontina, Parmesan or mozzarella cheese.

LA Gourmet

Looking for a quick and easy slice of pizza that is a way better than your neighborhood Dominos? LA Gourmet has what you’re looking for. Expect greasy, over-the-top cheesy, and extremely large slices of pizza. Truly, order one slice and somehow they give you the entire pie in one piece. The cheese pizza with a side of ranch is the best. Bite into a hand-tossed thin crust (with the option of an extra crispy crust) that is covered in melted mozzarella. If you are feeling really fancy, then you can request asiago, ricotta, or feta cheese.

Olivella’s

If you had a rough day of work and you need a glass of wine with a side of pizza, then take a seat at Ollivela’s. This cozy pizza parlor offers traditional Italian, Neapolitan and Roman style pies (you get the best of all worlds in one location). On top of their thin, gooey-in-the-middle crust is their very own house -made mozzarella cheese. Tip: For those of you who are strictly cheese-business and want to skip the sauce, ask for their sauceless Roman-style “Snow White” pie topped with mozzarella, ricotta cheese, oregano, garlic, and olive oil.

Zalat

Hungry at four in the morning after a long night of “work?” Give Zalat a call because their delivery hours run late and their cheese pizzas run greasy. With a delicious hand-tossed crust loaded with mozzarella cheese, you could never go wrong with a Zalat pie. Tip: if you are the ranch lover who kept scrolling, this place has a pizza with ranch and hot sauce drizzled on it.

Campisi’s

Campisi’s restaurant has your delicious Italian dishes and award-winning pizzas. While you can order meals like ravioli, spaghetti, tilapia and more, the cheese pizza is a guaranteed home run. For all of their pizzas, Campisi’s uses provolone cheese imported from the cheese capital itself: Wisconsin. This cheese covers their homemade thin crust pie.

Greenville Ave. Pizza Company

Similar to LA Gourmet, this is where you can get a pie that is not shy on cheese, grease or size. With the option to build your own pizza, all GAPCO pizzas never fall short. Their simple, but ever scrumptious, cheese pizza is loaded with a special blend of three different cheeses from Grande. The cheese that coats a thick, house-made crust.
