Oh happy day.

Sometimes all you need to make your morning great is to dive into a dozen of fresh, sprinkled-covered doughnuts. Fortunately, every year we have an excuse to indulge in these wonderful sweet treats—judgment free—as we celebrate National Doughnut Day. Besides making us incredibly happy and giving us an excuse to stuff our faces, this holiday serves a greater purpose. National Doughnut Day was established by the Salvation Army to commemorate the “Doughnut Lassies” who provided doughnuts and treats to soldiers on the front lines during World War I.

So whether you’re craving a traditional glazed donut, a long john covered in bacon and maple syrup, or anything in between, here’s a list of Dallas doughnut shops that are eager to help you celebrate this day.

Glazed Donut Works

This year, Glazed Donut Works has teamed up with Full City Rooster and the local Salvation Army. They will be on site at the Dallas VA where they will provide more than 1,000 veterans with doughnuts and coffee to honor the service and sacrifice this holiday is about. On Friday, they’ll also be holding a picture contest. Use the hashtag #donutlocal and make sure to tag them and a friend on your Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook for a chance to win some prizes. One winner will receive a pair of tickets to Luck Dallas’ doughnut and beer pairing event this weekend.

Friday Hours: 7 a.m. to noon; 9 p.m. to 2 a.m.

Hypnotic Donuts

If you want to take part of this holiday by indulging in a delicious treat, then look no further than Hypnotic Donuts. This Dallas favorite is not only home to the famous chicken biscuits, but all of their doughnuts are trans fat-free. To celebrate this national holiday, they will be giving away random prizes throughout the day. Indulge in their famous Evil Elvis, a concoction made up of peanut butter, bacon, banana, and honey, their Canadian Healthcare, or one of their many other delicacies.

Friday Hours: 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Jarams Donuts

Jarams is basically the Disneyland of doughnut shops. Nutella, strawberries, cream cheese, bacon, sprinkles, birthday donuts, holiday donuts, kolaches, are among the myriad of options for you to choose from. With so many choices, it’s no wonder a simple glance at their website will leave your mouth watering. This local gourmet shop will be giving away two free croissant holes with a purchase of $10 or more. Make sure to also take part in their Instagram selfie contest using the hashtag #JaramsSelfie2016 this Friday through Sunday for a chance to win a box of their specialty doughnuts.

Friday Hours: 6 a.m. to noon

Krispy Kreme

Of course we couldn’t celebrate National Doughnut Day without including this classic national brand. Stop by any location and grab their bestselling Krispy Kreme Original Glazed, or any of the doughnuts on their menu. The best part? Your doughnut is completely free. However, if you’re feeling charitable they do encourage a donation, which will go to the local Salvation Army. Consider it your contribution to the Dallas charity world. We’re sure LeeAnne Locken would be very proud.

Friday Hours: 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.
