The 50 Best Restaurants in Dallas

May the dining begin!

Just as summer stretches before you, vast as a Playa del Carmen beach, we have some dining for you to do.

It’s been three years since we ranked the 100 Best Restaurants in Dallas, and what a dynamic three years it’s been. With a whirlwind of openings and closings, we felt it was time to recalibrate our rankings.

You’ll find a crop of newcomers as well as old faithfuls. A few gaps may surprise you: the Mansion, Hibiscus, and Abacus. Things in the Dallas restaurant world change constantly and change fast. Even as we narrowed our list, several major chefs like Kent Rathbun shifted positions, having us pulling favorites and planning our revisits. If the leading chef has left recently, you won’t find a restaurant on this list till we’ve had a chance to revisit. The list is a living document we’ll update continually. So restaurants will cycle on, others off while we keep the pulse. And if you dine somewhere and love it—or hate it—let us know; we’ll head out and see. Check back frequently. Dine often and dine well. Space it out, if you wish; two a week will get you to December, when the Best New Restaurants issue will give you a whole new crop to do.

May the months ahead be full of the city’s best.
