I’m not much of a vroom-vroomer if that is even a term. Fast cars aren’t my thing. But I’m, once again, in a minority (pole) position. The Texas Motor Speedway is ground zero for hundreds of thousands of vroom-vroomers. And next Thursday the TSM will host an event for people who like fast cars and children’s charities.
That’s when the city of Roanoke, with a logo that bills the ‘burb as “The Unique Dining Capitol of Texas,” will host Chefs in the Fast Lane from 5:30pm (hors d’ oeuvres by Hard Eight Barbeque) to 8:10pm. (No, that is not a typo.)
The event is actually a tour of the Lone Star Tower Condominiums at the TMS. Chefs Lincoln Engstrom (Levy Restaurants), Aaron Austin (Vintage Grill & Car Museum), Charles Youts (The Classic Café), and reigning champ Todd Phillips (JR’s Steak and Grill) will be stationed in different locations. A progressive feast that will benefit the Speedway Children’s Charities.
