Somebody Help This Poor Girl: Homemade Root Beer in Dallas

Just after I read the following email, my brain flipped open a memory chip loaded with the remnants of the old A&W Root Beer jingle.  So if you see me today and I break out in song, I apologize in advance.

Her email also made me long for a big frosty mug of root beer. Not the hard stuff, but a good old-fashioned gulp of childhood memories.

I know lots of bars are making their own tonic and bitters. Do you know of anyone who is making their own root beer? I noticed an alcoholic root beer in the liquor store the other day and it made me wonder if anyone in Dallas is doing their own.
