Last month we mentioned that Lakewood Smokehouse was slated to open at 1901 Abrams Road in the space previously occupied by Ali Baba Mediterranean Grill. Well, that time has come.

The concept is from Jason Hall (owner of 3 Stacks Smoke & Tap House in Frisco), Mike Mullen, and John Pantenburg. They’ve been friends and co-workers in the restaurant industry for 20 years.

“We are thrilled to bring the Lakewood community a modern twist on the classic barbecue dining experience,” said Hall in an email. “Our team was drawn to the sense of community that makes Lakewood special and we can’t wait become a part of the fabric of the neighborhood.”

Menu highlights include barbecue staples. There’s brisket, smoked turkey, chicken, sausage, ribs, macaroni and cheese, fried okra, green beans, potato salad and more. The restaurant will serve sausage from Rudolph’s Meat Market and bread from Empire Baking Company.

The bar will pour more than 20 Texas brews. Lunch will be available after the first few weeks of business.

Lakewood Smokehouse is located at 1901 Abrams Rd. in Dallas. Hours are Monday through Thursday from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. until midnight, and Sunday from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m.
