We are now in that time of the year when a food truck owner is deliriously tired and happy at the same time. Public events are packed and there are so many outdoor private gigs. Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays are especially mayhem. I recall one food truck owner who literally laid down on the floor of his truck, weeping (that truck fortunately didn’t last long).
Caroline Perini from Easy Slider tells me: “Our first gig I wanted to walk off the truck.” We are so lucky that she didn’t. It’s tough work. Almost all food trucks take Monday off to manage the business end and to recuperate from the week. Accordingly, we usually skip publishing the Monday schedule.
There are lots of events going on this week, but one in particular to highlight is the McKinney Block Party on Thursday, benefiting Incarnation House. The event runs from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Food trucks attending include Easy Slider, Bellatrino, RockStar Bakeshop, and Ruthie’s.
