There’s not always enough time in the day to skim a lengthy, re-worded press release that’s been stamped with “breaking” or “exclusive.” And some stories don’t warrant an entire page of prose. Each week we’ll gather the most important tidbits of Dallas food news and post them here, on SideDish. Because sometimes all you need is the scoop.

Unleavened Fresh Kitchen to open: Lakewood residents, Scott Piland and Tom Dynan, are opening Unleavened Fresh Kitchen this fall. The fast-casual restaurant has a website, and well, not much else at this point. I reached out earlier this week, here’s what I was told: “Young-ish (in their ’30s) guys with hospitality backgrounds, Scott Piland and Tom Dynan…in a nutshell, it is a fast-casual restaurant that will focus on fresh, wholesome and well-sourced ingredients offered as a wrap or salad. Opening late September. Additional patio seating outside. Will serve beer and wine. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Hoping to be a true neighborhood spot for local families, residents and those who work in the area as well.” Unleavened Fresh Kitchen is located at 1900 Abrams Parkway.

Lobster rolls for all: East Hampton Sandwich Co. is celebrating three years of business with half-priced lobster rolls on Monday, September 14. Need I say more?

Dream Café to open location in Lakewood: According to the release: “Mary O’Brien, owner of The Dream Cafe in Dallas, is happy to announce the company’s first franchise! Christine Lott, a partner in The Dream Cafe Addison and a Lakewood resident, is franchising her own location in Lakewood…Another exciting new development at The Dream is a new, reinvented, refreshed dinner menu for all locations. Mary is working with Consulting Chef Kelly Hightower (Hattie’s, Tei Tei Robata Bar, Oso Food & Wine) and is offering several of the new dinner items as specials over the next few weeks until the new dinner menu is ready to go later this fall.” The Lakewood Dream Café location is slated to open by the end of the year at 6465 E Mockingbird Lane, Suite 380.

Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar to open on September 23: Last year we broke the news that Southern California-based restaurant, Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar, was slated to open in Addison. Well, that time has come. According to the release: “Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar’s 8,445 square-foot interior will be designed to feel like a Rocky Mountain Wyoming escape, featuring grand lodge-inspired furnishings such as cozy fireplaces, ledge stone, a chandelier crafted from Aspen logs, as well as artwork reminiscent of the Cowboy State. Additionally, a 2,313 square-foot dog-friendly patio will offer a dog menu, featuring grilled meats and brown rice.” Lazy Dog is located in Addison at Village on the Parkway at 5100 Belt Line Road, Suite 500.

New Menu Items Available at AT&T Stadium: The Dallas Cowboys go head-to-head with the New York Giants at AT&T Stadium on Sunday, and fans will have to opportunity to nosh on new stadium concessions. The following items have added to the menu: Tacos al pastor, a Mexican short rib sandwich, meatball sandwich, jumbo smoked ham griddle, grid iron griddle (with pimento cheese), Texas-style reuben, Frito pie hot dog, and gelato cookie sandwiches.
