There’s not always enough time in the day to skim a lengthy, re-worded press release that’s been stamped with “breaking” or “exclusive.” And some stories don’t warrant an entire page of prose. Each week we’ll gather the most important tidbits of Dallas food news and post them here, on SideDish.

Because sometimes all you need is the scoop.

Greenville Avenue Pizza Company is now serving brunch: Jump-start your morning with dishes such as meat and potato calzone with scrambled eggs, potatoes, sausage, bacon, cheddar, mozzarella; sweet calzone with strawberry drizzle, ricotta, blueberries, and raspberries; and veggie calzone with fried eggs, mozzarella cheese, potatoes, red onion, spinach, and mushrooms. Brunch is available on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Steel City Pops to open new location in Casa Linda Plaza: Need we say more?

Vagabond is closed: The casual restaurant and bar which opened in the old J. Pepe’s space in early 2014 has closed for good.

The Wild Detectives offers new food menu: Popular Oak Cliff bookstore and coffee shop is now offering a full food menu. The menu is “inspired by the Mediterranean culture that fits people’s different appetites and moods,” and includes avocado toast with diced tomatoes and lime zest, roasted red peppers and anchovies, and Spanish escabeche mussels with kettle chips and chives.

Lead Belly Coffee to open in Deep Ellum: We broke the news in April that a new coffee shop is coming to Deep Ellum. According to co-owner, Emma Saperstein, they are “hustling to work towards opening.” Expect small bites, specialty coffee, and cocktails.

Uptown Pawn to open in old Belly & Trumpet space: The bar, from the folks who recently opened TBD in the former Republic space, is slated to open in September. According to the press release: “Uptown Pawn will invite in local musicians on weeknights, and on weekends a DJ will keep the energy high,” and “the menu is focused on well-made, classic bar food like burgers and wings. The drinks menu will feature an array of beer, wine, champagne, and cocktails.”

Wild About Harry’s now open in Deep Ellum: Nosh on custard at 111 South Hall Street in Deep Ellum.

Hofmann Hots to relocate: The popular hotdog restaurant is relocating to space across the street. The new location is slated to open in mid-to-late November.

Zini’s Pizzeria on Cedar Springs is closed: No word on what will move into the empty space at 4001 Cedar Springs.

Urban Acres is closed: The farmstead and café closed its doors on August, 18. A full statement about the closure can be found here.
