Russell Hobbs, the owner of The Prophet Bar and The Door in Deep Ellum, is trying his hand at food with a late-night “tapas” restaurant concept called Texas Tapas.

“Dallas isn’t a one horse town on the Trinity River anymore, it’s an international city and people’s food interest is international. With tapas, you can enjoy a little bit of everything,” said Hobbs in an email.

Chef Jaime Corona, formerly of The Place at Perry’s, has crafted a menu filled with sizable American-style share plates such as Deep Ellum fried ribeye with gravy and eggs, chicken and waffles, the “American Dream Hot Dog” served inside of a hot glazed doughnut, an Angus beef waffle burger, and blackened tuna with soba noodles.

Texas Tapas is located at 2511 Main Street and is open for dinner Wednesdays through Saturdays. You can view the full menu, and hours of operation here. They will host a grand opening event this month, keep an eye on their site for more details to come.
