I picked up Sunday’s Plano Star Courier and flipped to page three where I found “Bacon Bouquets Cause Feeding Frenzy.” I learned Amazeballz, a cake ball shop in Plano that opened in mid-May, is now offering “elegantly packaged bacon roses.”The brains behind bacon roses is Meredith Browning, owner of Ditzy Blondes. Her father is a diabetic, and Browning was trying to come up with a special gift for him. She mixed “diabetic friendly” brown sugar with some spices, cooked bacon, and rolled them in the shape of a rose. It’s a story just waiting to play out on Shark Tank.

You can try to order them for Father’s Day, but don’t be disappointed if she’s booked to the limit. Check with Amazeballz  or go straight to Browning’s  website and peruse the offerings: Bacon Roses in a Texas vase, bacon roses and Hershey’s Bacon Roses, The Original Bacon Roses.
