This afternoon, Austin-based Manera Restaurant Group announced that J. Black’s Feel Good Kitchen on Henderson Avenue will close its doors for good on May 2, exactly five years after opening. According to the release:

“With the resurgence of Lower Greenville the Henderson Avenue location saw a downturn in business, which eventually led to the closing. Manera Restaurant Group is reorganizing its focus and efforts on the J. BLACK’S locations in Houston and Austin, while also preparing to launch new concepts in Austin.”

J. Blacks will remain in business for the next two weeks and will close with a two day “last call closing party” on May 1 and 2. Doors open at 4 p.m. and the restaurant and bar will feature drink specials throughout the weekend.
