Glazed Donut Works and Four Corners Brewing Co. are teaming up on a beer doughnut collaboration. Yes, you read that correctly.

According to Glazed Donut Works co-owner, Darren Cameron, the shop is currently experimenting with a beer-infused doughnut with toasted pecans, and toasted coconut sprinkled on top of dark chocolate icing. “I think the pecan and coconut notes in the beer will be very dominant in the dough and adding similar flavors on top will compound and heighten the taste,” Cameron explained. He plans on perfecting the recipe over the next couple of weeks.

The beer he’s referring to is Four Corners’ Soul Child. The unreleased brown ale is brewed with toasted pecans and coconut. “We’re currently only brewing small batches of it in the taproom,” Four Corners brewmaster Zach Petty explained. The beer will be a limited release. They don’t have a date set for the grand debut, but they’re tentatively planning on May 1.

Glazed plans on offering the beer doughnuts at their shop on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays throughout the month of May. “We can’t sell the beer at the shop because of TABC licensing requirements,” said Cameron, “but I’m guessing Four Corners will want to have the donuts at the brewery for weekends, too. We plan on making them available for them.”

Glazed Donut Works hopes to offer a unique beer and doughnut collaboration every month from now on. Just think of the possibilities.
