What a luscious day to go back to bed and read a book. Well, that’s not gonna happen so let’s get down to business.

Last week, a disappointed diner noted he “just didn’t like” Casa Rubia. “Ordered almonds (fine), olives (fine), cheese and meat tray (fine), califlor dish sic (drenched in oil).” It was “hard to find a waiter”and the service was “mediocre.”

A loyal FFF participant was fortunate enough to take a vacay in Napa and Sonoma last weekend. She recommends: “Redd (Yountville), Chalkboard (Healdsburg) Cindy’s Backstreet Kitchen (St Helena), Bouchon (Yountville), D’Amici (Calistoga) and Oxbow Public Market or St. Clair Brown (both Napa) for lunch. Good food and wine pairings at La Toque (Napa), but somewhat sterile decor/atmosphere keep it from being one of my favorites–I remembered it being better on my last trip there.”

And you? Did you brave the nonexistent tornadoes and head to a local restaurant? If so, let us know.
