What is Your House Wine?

I never spend over $10 a bottle. Here is my choice for April. What's yours?

oysterbayI’m always on the lookout for a wine to stock as my house wine. In the summer, I rotate whites from Portugal, Uruguay, Chile, Italy with Roses from France and Italy. Chardonnay, if unoaked, occasionally. I never spend over $10 a bottle unless I splurge on a Texas Viognier. Currently my me-plus-or-minus-one wine is an amusing Sauvignon Blanc from Oyster Bay in New Zealand. It is light and crisp, and, best of all, can be found for $8.81 a bottle if you buy six at Tom Thumb. (I paid $4 more (a bottle) at Spec’s.) Don’t trust my judgement? Oyster Bay Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough 2014 took home a gold medal at the recent TexSom International Wine Competition. Prediciton: By this time next year it will be $16.

How about you? What wines do you rotate at house wines?
