My body was begging me to treat it a little more kindly after a long week at SXSW in Austin. If you have ever been to SXSW, then you can agree that lack of sleep and an overabundance of food and drink is pretty much the norm. So after returning to Dallas, I hit up Green Grocer for a little liquid help.
I often get the cold-pressed juices when my body feels worn down, but this week I opted for my favorite fizzy fermented tea, Holy Kombucha. Born and brewed in Fort Worth since 2011, Holy Kombucha “prides itself on brewing artisan batches of palatable goodness because healthy does not have to be unpleasant,” according to their Facebook page. Many believe kombucha helps to increase your energy and awareness through aiding in digestion and detoxification. The basic description of kombucha is a raw, all natural, live beverage brewed from tea, sugar and kombucha culture.
My favorite Holy Kombucha flavor is the green apple ginger. It is very light and refreshing, slightly sweet, fizzy and gingery.
