National Margarita Day is this Sunday. Here’s where to celebrate.
Under $5 — Buy your friends a round:
Some restaurants like Urban Taco consider holidays as an excuse to treat their customers. They’ll be pouring $3 baby mango, hibiscus and la clasica frozen margaritas all day. It wouldn’t seem right going to here without getting a taco. Ask about their daily taco and side specials.
Salvadoran-inspired dishes and cheap drinks are couple reasons why people keep crowding into Gloria’s. This may be a natural choice for many, with its $4 house or on the rocks margaritas.
Blue Mesa is offering half-priced top shelf margaritas. Their signature margaritas are highly recommended — made with Olmeca Altos Reposado tequila, organic agave nectar and fresh squeezed lime juice.
Another hot spot in town says their “margaritas will drive your taste buds loco” on their website. The drink prices might too. Desperados Mexican Restaurant will offer all-day happy hour. Drinking on an empty stomach may not be the best idea so grab their famous Desperados tacos. This entrée has been their number one seller for four years in a row.
If you haven’t head about the Mambo Taxi at Mi Cocina, you may have been living in a bubble. For $8, try one of the most popular drinks uniquely made of house-made sangria, and frozen blend margarita with sauza silver tequila, and lime juice.
$10 and up — You deserve it:
Sometimes, it’s nice to have a drink and not worry about the cost. These margaritas are sure to please but will run a little more than usual.
Jason is shaking things up in the bartender scene and the Fresno-rita is the margarita of the hour at Abacus. The drink is made of jalapeños, fresno peppers, agave nectar, and Cabeza Tequila Blanco. It’s balanced, not overly sweet and sure to please for $13.
Try a something with a twist at Meso Maya’s. Avocados are good for your body and margaritas are just a good time. Add a splash of pineapple juice and taste the best of both worlds with an Avocado Margarita. These handcrafted margaritas run $12 but you can get your hands on a house margarita for $8.
Travel down the road to Plano, to try the Hibiscus Margarita from Mexican Sugar. It was rated the 2014 Best Margarita in Dallas. Plus, the presentation is just pretty. Or try a Machete. Either way, you won’t be disappointed.
Komali’s features more than five different specialty margaritas. Amongst the most popular is Tamarind. That’s Herradura Reposado, Cointreau, Prickly Pear Puree, Mango and fresh lime. It will cost you $13 and maybe a new margarita addiction.
