What To Drink Now: Super Bowl Cocktails

Drinks to please your Super Bowl crowd, no matter which team they are rooting for.

To help wash down that plethora of spinach dip, and chicken wings this Saturday, you’ll need a few tasty cocktails. Each of these are sure to please a crowd. A few spirits samples were sent for editorial consideration. And of course, don’t forget to pick up plenty of Pyramid and Sam Adams to please fans of both teams.

portonSeahawk Sidecar

This Peruvian spirit gives the traditional Sidecar an extra layer of floral, fruit and spice flavors.

1 ½ oz  Portón Pisco

1 oz fresh lemon juice

½ oz Cointreau

½ oz simple syrup

Preparation: Combine all ingredients in a shaker. Fill shaker ¾ full of ice and shake vigorously. Strain into coupe glass. Garnish with an orange wheel and a sprig of fresh mint.

A nod to the Irish roots of snow ravaged Boston and a city looking for a win.

1 ounce Tullamore Dew

1 ounce Carpano Antica Formula Vermouth

1 ounce Campari

Preparation: Stir together in an ice filled shaker then strain into a martini glass. Garnish with an orange twist.

Patriot Punch

A big bowl of punch is the perfect welcome to any gathering, this one adds a woodsy herbal note, making it perfect for wintertime sipping.

12 ounces Belvedere Vodka

8 ounces apple cider

3 ounces rosemary infused simple syrup

Juice of 1 lemon

12 ounces lemon-lime soda or club soda

Orange slices, lemon slices, apple slices and rosemary stems for garnish

Preparation: Add all ingredients to an ice filled punch bowl and serve immediately.

midoriMidori Super Bowl Sour

Colored like your favorite Seattle jersey, and combing sweet and sour, this cocktail will add kick to any party.

2 ounces Midori Melon Liquor

1 ounce fresh lemon juice

4 ounces club soda

Preparation: Add ingredients to a tall ice filled glass and stir together. Garnish with a lemon wedge, or with a few frozen slices of honeydew.

Fresh berries and a vodka made by Bend Distillery in the heart of Oregon inspired by the pure water of Crater Lake (one of the most beautiful places in the world) makes this refreshing cocktail a winner on any game day.

3 oz Crater Lake Vodka

Seasonal berries

Mint

Club soda

Preparation: Muddle mint and berries in a pint glass. Add Crater Lake Vodka, fill with ice and top with a splash of soda water. Stir well and garnish with lime and mint sprig.
