Last February Sissy’s Southern Kitchen & Bar owner, Lisa Garza, filed a lawsuit against her business partner, Thomas Welch. She reached out to us directly to let us know that she’s won the lawsuit, and as of 2015 has full control of the upscale comfort food restaurant and bar.

Garza is currently looking for a new chef. “I have a friend that has been helping out in the kitchen while we search and review possible candidates for head chef,” she writes in an email. “I have totally overhauled management and begun a detailed retraining process… As we lead into spring we are giving Sissy’s a little facelift, tweaking recipes and menus and taking the next six months to prepare for expanding.”

Garza has also parted ways with her PR team, and hired a new CFO services company, CapRock. Talk about a fresh start.
