Yesterday news broke that Washington DC mini-chain, Amsterdam Falafelshop, is making its way to Deep Ellum this summer. The fast-casual restaurant specializes in made-to-order falafels, and guests can watch as each ball of mashed chickepeas is formed by hand, and then fried until golden brown. But the best part of the experience (or so I’ve heard) happens after the falafels have been handed off. It is then, customers can make their way to the toppings bar (equipped with more than 21 toppings and sauces), and go wild. There are no topping limitations here.

Now I’ve never been to an Amsterdam Falafelshop before, but when D Magazine associate editor, Bradford Pearson caught wind of its impending move to Dallas he virtually jumped out of his seat. “It’s really delicious! I love the baba ganoush, their hot pepper relish is delicious… they don’t skimp on their portions,” I can’t wait to find out first hand.
