Construction at Luscher’s is Coming Along Nicely

Don't hold your breath on an opening date just yet, though.

In 2013 news broke that Brian Luscher, owner of The Grape, signed a lease for a restaurant space in Old East Dallas on the edge of Deep Ellum. Unfortunately, the deal was axed by the city due to parking restrictions. Luscher has since relocated his impending hot dog restaurant to the corner of Commerce and Pryor in Deep Ellum.

I was sent an exclusive sneak peek of the space earlier in the week, and construction appears to be coming along. Don’t hold your breath on an opening date just yet, though. According to Luscher “Construction is coming along nicely. We’re starting to see it’s soul, it’s very exciting. We’ve decided that the business will tell when it is ready to open. It’s a bit of a luxury, but we want to do it right. I think it was poet Badovinus who said ‘Once you open the doors, it’s no longer yours.’ We’ve been working on making this happen for over a year and a half, why rush it now?”

In the meantime keep daydreaming of succulent handmade hot dogs to come.
