Murray Street Coffee posted a Facebook message last Thursday night stating that they needed to come up with $10,000 or they were going to close for good come Monday morning. With the aid of the community and a Tilt campaign, the shop was able to exceed their goal. “[It’s] incredible, really. Circling the drain Thursday evening, rescued and both economically and spiritually revitalized by Sunday,” owner Doug Davis explains. They handed the payment over to their landlords on Monday afternoon. There’s no word on how long their lease has been extended for, but the Deep Ellum coffee shop’s regulars can sip with ease for the time being.
