Relish in what your area farmers markets have to offer on the weekend before Thanksgiving. From fresh winter greens to German-inspired pastries, there’s a variety of things to add a special touch to your family’s feast. Also, while shopping, take in some of the markets’ special events such as cooking demonstrations.

Coppell Farmers Market
This weekend, the market will highlight Greens and Goodies, a small farm and bakery manned by Eric Katzenberger. This vendor’s specialty comes in the form of authentically made spiced rum stollen, spiced apple bread, and orange rum chocolate cake — perfect additions to any holiday meal. These sweet treats, made by Katzenberger’s European baker mother, are a unique touch to any occasion. The market also has an abundance of fall greens such as collards, beets, turnips, kale, Swiss chard, and spinach. For a more comprehensive list of what’ll be on site Saturday, click here.
The market will be closed next weekend for Thanksgiving but will kick off its winter season markets December 6 with a “Home for the Holidays” theme. These winter markets will take place the second and fourth Saturdays in January, February, and March.

The cost is $30 at the door. The class is the final and fifth in series, which kicked off October 25. Starting this week, the market will be closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
