Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steak House has signed on as the flagship restaurant for McKinney & Olive, a 20-story tower Crescent Real Estate Holdings is developing in Uptown. The restaurant will occupy 13,000 square feet at the building’s main entrance on McKinney Avenue, and will close its North Dallas venue on Spring Valley—where it has been for 20 years—when it moves to Uptown in 2016.
The design of the new two-story Del Frisco’s “will be in keeping with Uptown’s energetic, pedestrian-friendly vibe,” said John Zogg, managing director for Crescent. It will feature large patios and glass windows, plus a balcony overlooking a park designed by landscape architect Jim Burnett, whose other work includes the award-winning Klyde Warren Park.
Del Frisco’s says customers can expect the same high-quality steaks and fresh seafood dishes created by chef David Holben, along with favorites like lobster mac and cheese and lemon doberge cake. “The move from North Dallas to Uptown for the Double Eagle is all about evolving the brand and showcasing more options and modern amenities while still sticking to the concept’s rich heritage and tradition,” said Mark S. Mednansky, CEO of Del Frisco’s Restaurant Group.
Jack Gosnell and Jack Breard of UCR Urban represented Crescent in the lease; Kevin McIntosh of KMAC Group Inc. represented Del Frisco’s.
Designed by Pelli Clarke Pelli, the 530,000-square-foot McKinney & Olive is slated to open in 2016. Lead tenants in the building include Gardere, which has leased 109,000 square feet, and Sidley Austin LLP, which has leased 75,000 square feet.
So, we’ll have at least three high-end steakhouses overlooking each other? Morton’s, Capital Grille, and Del Frisco’s? Perhaps we have a Tenderloin District developing.
