In our September issue, we highlight 40 people who have shaped Dallas into what it is or are encouraging its growth in different ways. These men and women have helped bring our city to its most exciting time as one of the fastest-growing metropolitan areas in the country.

Mariel Street grew up following around her restaurateur father, Gene Street, in kitchens and coolers and dish pits. She knew the workings of the business growing up, and when she hit a crossroads in life, she decided to jump right in and open her own place, Liberty Burger.

Now with five locations, Liberty Burger is the product of Mariel’s belief that burgers are a tireless American staple, loved and craved by Dallasites. She couldn’t have been more right.
