On Tuesday, September 16, Komali is celebrating Mexican Independence Day with a tequila tasting and street food grilled outside by chef Julio Peraza. The event costs $30 per person, which includes an entry cocktail, the tequila, and the street food. Bar manager Leann Berry is crafting the cocktails and pouring the Casa Noble tequila flights. A Casa Noble rep will be on-site to talk about the tequila-making process. Be there from 6:00 – 7:30 PM. To make reservations, contact Jennifer Clair at [email protected].

Chef Pyles at San Salvaje plans to celebrate the holiday with a special menu. It features Pozole Rojo Stew with Pork Chicharrones and Radishes, Chiles en Nogada with Walnut Sauce and Pomegranates, and Churros with a trio of dipping sauces for dessert. The specialty cocktail is El Corazon Picante, made with Cabeza Tequila, Pineapple-Habanero Infused Simple Syrup, and Chicha Morada. For reservations call 972-922-9922.

UPDATE: Wild Salsa is also running happy hour all day today. Get in on the action!
